FAQ

Getting Started

How to activate my license?

  1. Open iRightMenu Pro — the activation window appears automatically
  2. Enter the activation code you received after purchase and click “Activate”
  3. To re-activate later, go to Preferences → License

How to enable the Finder extension?

  1. Open Preferences → General
  2. Make sure “Enable Finder Context Menu” is checked
  3. The app handles the rest automatically — no system settings needed

Context Menu

Context menu not showing?

  1. Click the iRightMenu Pro icon in the menu bar and select “Restart Finder”
  2. If still not showing, open Preferences → General, uncheck then re-check “Enable Finder Context Menu”
  3. If neither works, try restarting your computer

No context menu on the Desktop or Documents folder?

If you have iCloud “Desktop & Documents Folders” sync enabled, these directories are managed by macOS’s File Provider framework, which conflicts with Finder extensions (FinderSync). This is a known macOS limitation that affects all FinderSync-based apps.

Option 1: Enable Override Mode (Recommended)

  1. Open Preferences → Advanced
  2. Check “Override System Context Menu” or “Enable Middle-Click Menu”
  3. Grant Accessibility permission when prompted (System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility)

Option 2: Disable iCloud Sync

  1. Open System Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → iCloud Drive
  2. Turn off “Desktop & Documents Folders”
  3. Once disabled, these directories are no longer managed by File Provider, and the context menu will work normally

Context menu not showing in cloud directories (iCloud Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox)?

Cloud directories are also managed by the File Provider framework, which conflicts with Finder extensions.

  1. Open Preferences → Advanced
  2. Check “Override System Context Menu” or “Enable Middle-Click Menu”
  3. Grant Accessibility permission when prompted (System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility)

Scripts & Plugins

Script execution failed?

  1. Test your script in Terminal first to make sure the syntax is correct
  2. Check if the script requires specific environment variables or dependencies
  3. Check the error logs via Preferences → Diagnostics → “Open Log Folder”

Root privilege scripts not working?

  1. Open Preferences → Diagnostics, click “Fix Root Permission”
  2. Enter your admin password when prompted
  3. Make sure the script itself is correct — test it in Terminal with sudo first

Plugin not working after installation?

  1. Click the iRightMenu Pro icon in the menu bar and select “Restart Finder”
  2. Verify the plugin is enabled in the Plugin Manager
  3. Check if the plugin requires a newer version of iRightMenu Pro

“Wants to access data from other apps” prompt?

When a script needs to access files belonging to other apps, macOS displays this permission prompt.

  1. Click “Allow” to grant access for this request
  2. For a permanent fix: go to System Settings → Privacy & Security → Full Disk Access, and add iRightMenu Pro to the list
