Troubleshooting
Context menu not appearing?
Try the following steps:
- Make sure "Enable Finder Extension" is checked in Preferences
- Try restarting Finder: Hold Option and click the Finder icon, then select Relaunch
- If it still doesn't work, try restarting your computer
Context menu not showing on Desktop or Documents?
After upgrading to macOS 14 Sonoma, if iCloud "Desktop & Documents Folders" sync is enabled, these directories become iCloud-managed, which prevents Finder extensions from loading properly. To fix:
- Open "System Settings > Apple ID > iCloud > iCloud Drive"
- Turn off "Desktop & Documents Folders" sync
- Restart Finder and the context menu will work again
Script execution failed?
Please check the following:
- Make sure the script syntax is correct - test it in Terminal first
- Check if the script requires specific environment variables or dependencies
- Check the application logs for detailed error messages
Not working in iCloud Drive or other cloud directories?
Context menu may not appear in iCloud Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, and other cloud directories. Follow these steps to enable:
- Open "Settings > Advanced" and check "Override system context menu" or "Enable middle-click menu"
- Grant Accessibility permission when prompted
- After authorization, right-click or middle-click menu will work in cloud directories
How to uninstall?
Simply drag iRightMenu Pro from the Applications folder to the Trash, just like any other macOS app.
How to migrate to a new Mac?
Download and install iRightMenu Pro on your new Mac, then activate with the same license key. Your license supports up to 2 Macs simultaneously.
Root privilege scripts not working?
If scripts with Root privilege fail to execute:
- Open "Settings > Advanced" and click "Fix Root Permission", then enter your admin password when prompted
- Make sure the script itself is correct — test it in Terminal with sudo first
- If the issue persists, please contact support
Plugin not working after installation?
If a plugin doesn't appear in the context menu after installation:
- Click "Restart Finder" in the status bar menu
- Verify the plugin is enabled in the Plugin Manager
- Check if the plugin requires a newer version of iRightMenu Pro
"Wants to access data from other apps" prompt?
When a script needs to access files belonging to other apps, macOS displays this permission prompt. You can:
- Click "Allow" to grant access for this request
- For a permanent fix: go to "System Settings > Privacy & Security > Full Disk Access" and add iRightMenu Pro to the list
- This permission is protected by macOS and cannot be granted programmatically — it must be enabled manually by the user
